use of the word 'faggot' on this board

recently, ive been seeing that the word 'faggot' is being used in what seems to be an exponential rate. which i seem kind of funny on a forum for a band that has a song and an album entitled unity. so, my question is, why do you people, who obviously support a band who advocates unity, feel the need to say a word that is obviously derogatory? do you people that use said word know any individuals that are homosexuals, and if so do you use said word in front of them? is the constant struggle to maintain a macho persona the reason that makes you use said word? im not a homosexual, but i know many homosexual friends, i am in the gay straight alliance at school, and am straight up disappointed that the same people that love the band that i consider my favorite to be using derogatory words such as 'faggot'. i see alot of remarks reguarding homosexuality (ie. element sucks thom yorkes wiener, etc.), and whenever i see them my view of this board just gets a peg lower. i mean, come on guys, this is a board about 311, one of the most accepting bands i can think of, and after reading alot of things on this board, im starting to hate some of their fans. bash me if youd like.

ill have to agree with you. danny, that is. i actually haven't really been around gay guys up untill recently. This girl I've been seeing's best friend is a gay guy. I was over at her house all day yesterday, and for some of the time her extremely swishy best friend and his boyfriend were over as well. They were really nice guys, I have no problem with them in the slightest. Their antics were hilarious, actually. One of them was doing his laundry at her house, with her laundry mixed in. while transfering it from the washer to the dryer, when he pulled out one of her pants, he was like "ooh these are so cute let me borrow them! ill let you borrow my (brad name) pants on...tuesday!" they are both ridiculously skinny. double zeros.

Those are the kind of guys I would like my girlfriend to be hangin out with when shes not with me. theyre funny, good guys who couldn't do anyone harm.

In regard to the word faggot, i was suprised when the two guys were play fighting one of them called the other one a faggot. i guess its alright by them. it must be one of those n word things with black people
