They really are good live... I saw them in '97 or '98... haha what's his face was in a lepard bikini and he was randomly playing random parts of songs by metallica and weezer exclaiming that green day was the best "fucking" rock band in the world. Ahhhh, memories...

The only thing keeping me from seeing Green Day live is two things:

1) The audience. They would probably contain teeny bopper MTV girls and boys, and also the fake "emo" crowd of people. And of course probably younger kids with parent chaperone's.

2) Do they play both new and old stuff? If they only play American Idiot live, then I won't be seeing it becuase I am not fond of the album.

Green Day was fun to watch. I saw them at HFStival back in 2001 and it was awesome at the end when tre set his drums on fire.

Yeah, the crowd is packed with little kids that couldn't even talk when Dookie came out. I was in the stands this time, but last year, there were a bunch of bags of douche knocking in to people and being obnoxious....kind of like the last two 311 shows i've been to. Bunch of meathead fuckers there to pick fights...

The opened with about 5 songs from American Idiot, then they did a solid 35-40 minutes of old shit...Fuckin great! The extra band members leave the stage and it's just the 3 of them, with Billie Joe playing "Blue", the old strat.

Honestly, it was one of the best shows i've EVER been to. Fuckin' cool 'cause i saw Green Day AND 311 in less than a week!

I have seen green day around 5 times before.....4 of the shows were the exact same show. Same songs, Same bee guys, same horns, same kid coming up on stage playing the same song on guitar and then giving away the guitar

They were all the same fucking show.......

yeah, this is true. That's the only thing that sucks about a green day show. they don't mix it up like 311 does, it's a very tight set that they've got down to a tee. They play a few different songs, but the majority of the set is the same.

still a great show though! billie joe has such control over the audience.

I remember watching Jurassic 5 open up for Green day at a warped tour in DC. There was already a HUGE crowd at one of the small side stages for green day when J5 rolled out....people were all like who the fuck is this? A rap group? WE WANT GREEN DAY!!!

Only took a few minutes into the 1st song to have every single person in the crowd really absorbing and enjoying J5's energy and talent. Green day followed up with a pretty damn good set and made it a show not to be missed.
