I'm guessing the next update will address all the rumors, ranging from the demise of the band, the DVD allegedly in the works, to whether or not Grassroots will ever be remixed.

To give it the production the band wishes it would have had, so the entire thing is as friendly on the ears as the remixed version of homebrew. So that making a mix 311 CD isn't a pain in the ass. So you can show that CD off as something other than poorly produced, stale, indie-labled rap/rock. ...for starters.

After spending much of the last 16 years in the studio and on the road, 311 have been enjoying some well-deserved time off. The past few months have been an important time for the band to relax, vacation, hug their pets and enjoy some homecooking. But no worries my friends, the band will return stronger than ever. At this time, there is no confirmed news on any tour dates or recording sessions beyond what we share below. We look forward to bringing you more news about the band's future plans as soon as we have news to share.

3-11 DAY 2007:
We have received many emails from fans inquiring about 3-11 Day this year. To avoid any confusion, there is no 3-11 Day show planned for 2007. At this point, 3-11 Day has been an event that takes place every other year (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006). But don't get me wrong, the celebration still continues!...We still expect you all to celebrate 3-11 Day with us by cranking some 311 music, wearing your favorite 311 t-shirt and requesting 311 at your local radio station! Let's let everyone know what day it is! We know many of you have even hosted your own 3-11 Day parties rockin' to 311 cds and the 3-11 Day DVD "Live From New Orleans". We welcome you to continue the tradition!

311 & SURFING PENGUINS?!:
311 recently produced & recorded a version of the Toots & The Maytals classic "Reggae Got Soul" for an upcoming animated feature film called "Surf's Up". 311's Chad Sexton also mixed the song at the band's Hive Studio. 311 had a blast getting back in the Hive together for this project. The movie is an animated feature about surfing penguins, so the band laid down a lively version of the song, complete with a horn section (including Zack Hexum), harmonica, organ and a chorus of 9 to 11 year old kids! When we hear of the movie's release date, we'll be sure to let you know.

311 / COLT CONNECTION:
We want to extend a big congrats to 311 fan and friend, Keith O'Neil; linebacker/special teams player with the 2007 Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts. The day before the Super Bowl, we got the following email from Keith.

"Hey man its Keith ONeil with the indianapolis Colts. I'm playing in Super Bowl XLI tomorrow and just
wanted to let you know I've been listening to you guys all week and will for sure be listening to you guys before I take the field. Never stop rockin - Keith ONeil #53
