haha fortunately for me, i never really bought in to the rock band/guitar hero hype. it was fun to play a few times every now and then, but i never liked it enough to actually buy it.Jordan311 wrote:lol nope. not in a good 4-5 years.

Listen closely to the intro of "Beautiful Disaster", particularly the part with the twin lead guitars. There is piano playing in the background. As for "Amber", listen closely to the "You live too far away" part. It's hard to hear, but there is a synthesizer riff going on there. It's much easier to hear in the Supa Dups Remix where it is isolated and more clear in the intro.dj3stripes wrote:""Beautiful Disaster" and "Amber" feature keyboard support." keyboards?

Go to a 311 show and watch closely, none of those songs have anybody playing a keyboard, ever. isn't that the point of rockband? To play the live instrumentsbbshorts wrote:Listen closely to the intro of "Beautiful Disaster", particularly the part with the twin lead guitars. There is piano playing in the background. I am all about live instruments, but either Nick, the producer, or a studio musician added the keyboards to the recording. When 311 plays live, they have the sound board fill in the extra bells and whistles from their records. Alot of songs have a synth or keyboard in the mix:dj3stripes wrote:Go to a 311 show and watch closely, none of those songs have anybody playing a keyboard, ever. isn't that the point of rockband? How Do You Feel
Creatures (For A While)
India Ink
Too Much Too Fast
Speak Easy
Golden Sunlight
First Straw
and tons more. Only recently has Nick started playing keyboards live, and that's for Old Funk and stuff like that.
For the purpose of Rock Band, they're using studio versions of the songs, and there are keyboard parts, so why not? I've even daydreamed about playing keyboards as a side man for 311. Probably wouldn't happen but they could use one.

Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
i almost feel dumber having had you explain in such great length how 311 live shows are produced.
Re: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
No worries, man. That's how they do it as far as I know. Either one of the band members said it in an interview, or I think they explain that on the 311 Day 2004 DVD.dj3stripes wrote:i almost feel dumber having had you explain in such great length how 311 live shows are produced.

I hate 'Rock Band', as I think games like it have ruined video gaming, but am happy 311 will be on it as it could lead to a new unreleased song or two for the game, and anything that gets me new 311 songs is sweet!
